Angels are winged spirits of good from a universe beyond 
Arda.  Five known kinds exist, each with slightly different 
powers:  Angels of *****rm_angeldeath.txt*0[Death], *****rm_angelfire.txt*0[Fire], and *****rm_angelwar.txt*0[War]; *****rm_angelherald.txt*0[Herald] angels;
and *****rm_angelbanish.txt*0[Banished] angels, who are trapped between worlds 
by evil magic.

These beings serve deities of their own, rather than the 
Valar or Morgoth--and therefore cannot use the *****skills.txt*39[Prayer] skill 
or any spell that requires piety to cast.  However, this 
allegiance to a foreign god allows Angels to cast spells 
from at least one special school (*****skills.txt*62[Celestial-power]); most 
Angels from every subrace except *****rm_angelbanish.txt*0[Banished] also gain 
access to a secondary school which matches their type.

All types of Angel have a few other benefits in common.  As spirit-
beings, they are immune to poison, paralysis and life-draining 
attacks.  Their Wisdom stat is always sustained; most Angel subraces 
also sustain another ability score.  Their haloes act as a permanent 
light source and protect the Angel from other light-based attacks.  
Most Angels have an additional resistance, which varies depending on 
their subrace.

Angels can automatically sense most invisible beings.  As they 
increase in level, Angels' ability to sense opponents will 
gradually improve:  they can sense demons telepathically at 10th 
level, most evil beings at 30th, and almost ALL types of creature 
at 40th.

Angels' wings allow them to levitate at 1st level.  As they grow 
more powerful, the wings can gain enough altitude for true flight 
or passage over high mountains. Because cloaks would entangle their 
wings, however, no Angel can wear a cloak of any kind--including the 
special magical cloaks needed to use the *****skills.txt*47[Mimicry] skill, which they can
never learn.  They are also restricted to wearing "soft" body 
armor such as robes, since heavier protection makes flight 
difficult.
